Step 1: Check your address

• Available now: order today, dish ships in 2-7 business days
• Waitlist: Residential is full in your cell; choose Roam instead (works immediately)
• Coming soon: rare in Canada; switch to Roam or wait

Step 2: Pick your plan

Use our interactive plan calculator if you’re not sure. Quick guide:

• Permanent home: Residential 100 at $75/month (most popular)
• Cottage or RV: Roam 50GB at $75/month, with Standby Mode $15/month off-season
• Heavy travel: Roam Unlimited at $200/month

Step 3: Pick your dish

• Standard Gen 3: $349 one-time, OR rent at $15/month (Residential only)
• Mini: $299 at Best Buy or Starlink directly
• Performance: $3,200 for business

Buy vs rent: buying breaks even at month 24. If you’ll keep Starlink 2+ years, buy.

Step 4: Payment

Credit card or debit. Starlink charges:

• Dish price (if you bought)
• First month’s service (prorated to your activation date)
• Shipping (free for most Canadian addresses, up to $150 for remote postal codes)
• Provincial sales tax on Roam plans (Residential prices include tax)

Total upfront for typical Residential 100 order: $349 dish + $75 first month + $0 shipping = $424 CAD on order. Subsequent months: $75.

Step 5: Shipping

• Southern Canada: 2-3 business days via Canpar or FedEx Ground
• Northern Canada: 5-10 business days via Northwestel partner shipping
• High Arctic (NU, NWT remote): 7-14 business days via Canadian North or Calm Air

Step 6: Activation

1. Unbox the dish, power supply, cable, and router
2. Place dish on the included kickstand outdoors (clear sky view)
3. Plug in power, wait 5 minutes for auto-orient
4. Download the Starlink app from App Store or Google Play
5. Connect your phone to the “STINKY” Wi-Fi network
6. Follow setup wizard: pick your Wi-Fi name and password
7. Verify speed in the app (should be 50+ Mbps minimum within first hour)

Step 7: Permanent installation (optional)

Can I order without a credit card?

Yes via debit card (Visa Debit, Mastercard Debit). Cash, e-transfer, and crypto not accepted. PayPal not accepted.

Do I need to verify my identity?

Often yes. Starlink may request KYC verification (government-issued ID photo + selfie) before shipping. Required to prevent fraud in Canada since 2025.

How do I know my referral was applied?
